Disclaimer
The sounds explored in this exercise focus on typical pronunciation features of the Standard Neutral English accent, as derived from Received Pronunciation (RP). At OnVoice we are committed to research that is current, and at the forefront of change and development, utilising the work and research of known, leading linguists and phoneticians. The use of these pronunciation features should be used as a guide that establishes a starting point from which to better understand speech sounds and articulation behaviours, rather than a hierarchy or dominion of pronunciation patronage. This work can be applied to all accents and dialects. As you develop your accent skills we will/can return to these materials, re-contextualising the work and pronunciation features for appropriate use of the accent or dialect you are exploring.
